Kolkota
Kolkota is rich with colonial heritage. It is believed that the finger of Sati fell near Kali temple in Kalighat, when Shiva was wandering with her body in his hands. The city thus got its name. In 1756, Siraj-ud-daullah captured it but it was taken over by the British in 1757 AD. It remained the capital of British India from 1772 AD to 1912 AD. Victoria Memorial is an important historical place in Kolkata. It was constructed by Lord Curzon in early 20th century and was inaugurated by Prince of Wales in 1921 AD. St. Cathedral Church was constructed in 19th century and is an example of colonial architecture. Howrah Bridge was made over river Hooghly in 20th century. Patna
Patna is an ancient city. Ajatshatru established Patliputra as the capital of Magadh in 493 BC. Patna became the capital of Bihar in 1947. Khuda Baksha Oriental Library contains a huge collection of Arabic and Persian manuscripts. Golghar is 29 m high structure. In the shape of a beehive, it was constructed in 1786. Bodhgaya
Bodhgaya is a place where Buddha attained enlightenment. It is considered a major pilgrim center for the Buddhists. Maha Bodhi temple has been included in the list of UNESCO World heritage Site. Puri
Puri is 55 km from Bhuvaneshwar. Puri is one of the four Dhams of India and is called City of Temples. It is famous for Jagannath temple built in 12th century. Famous rath yatra is also carried out every year from this temple. Adi Shankaracharya established a peeth over here. Ahmedabad

Somnath
Somnath is famous for the Somnath temple. It is considered the first of all 12 Jyotirlingas. According to mythology, Moon God, Somraj, originally built the temple in gold. Ravana rebuilt it in silver, Krishna in wood and by Bhimdev in stone. It was looted in 1026 AD by Moh. Ghazni and subsequently in 1297, 1394 and in 1786 by Aurangzeb. Mumbai

Aurangabad
Aurangabad is named after the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. It is famous for many places of historical interest. Bibi ka Maqbara was constructed by Prince Azam Shah for his mother Begum Rabia Durani in 1626. It is inspired by Taj Mahal. The Tomb of Aurangzeb is a very simple structure.
